We are a different kind of church … a church that loves people regardless of their church background or life experience … a church that values families and helping people navigate the issues of life. But most importantly, we are a church that desires to display passionate love for God, and unconditional love for people.
We are a church where people grow in knowledge, relationships (with God and each other), and lives are changed for the better.
We believe there is nothing like first-hand experience, so come and check us out for what we believe will be the best hour of your week!
How should I dress?
Come casual. Most wear jeans, a pair of khakis, or business casual; just make sure you come in whatever is most comfortable for you.
What about my children?
Your children will have a blast in our exciting kids’ programs designed just for them! (First time guests repeatedly tell us their children loved their experience and can’t wait to return!) When you arrive, our welcome team will help guide you to the Nursery (age 0-2), Jumpstart (for age 3-5) or Flipside Kids (for 6-12). Or if you prefer, you are welcome to keep your children with you in the main worship service. It’s your call!
What about Children and Youth activities?
We are actively involved in building and developing the hearts of our young people to stand up and lead the next generation. We continually offer activities to connect and build your children throughout the year.
Flipside Kids offers everything from lock-ins, summer camps, and our annual Splash Bash! Your kids are sure to have a great time and go home with a positive message.
Core Church is actively involved with the youth of Northwest Houston. We offer summer camps, team competitions such as our annual Turkey Bowl & iDodge tournaments. Most importantly we offer Home Groups to get your youth connected with healthy relationships and growing into a more intimate relationship with God.
Will anyone single me out or embarrass me?
No. You won’t be asked to do anything that will make you feel uncomfortable. We’ll greet you warmly and help you find your way around. If you have any questions, a member of our guest services team will be happy to help. We want to keep in touch with you, so a simple guest card is available to give us a record of your visit if you choose. Guests are specifically asked to feel no obligation to give money.
What kind of church is Willowbrook Church?
We are a healthy, balanced, and growing Assembly of God church. Everything we do and teach is based solely on the Bible and the person of Jesus Christ. Our worship is contemporary in style. You’ll enjoy an inspirational worship experience that is exciting, engaging and authentic.
We are also a church of Small Groups which meet regularly in homes during the week to get connected, form lasting relationships and to study the Bible together.
Where are we located?
We are conveniently located at 13115 Hargrave Rd., on the access road of State Hwy. 249 right next door to the Willowbrook Methodist Hospital.
What are the Service times?
We meet on Sundays for Worship & Word at 9:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. On Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. we also have a variety of adult Small Groups, youth ministry, and children’s ministry.
What about Worship and Music?
Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sundays, with a time of inspiring, upbeat worship led by Pastor Scott Hussey. Over and over, guests tell us this part of the service helps them authentically connect with God. You are invited to participate as you feel comfortable. Some people sing and clap along; others might lift their hands humbly in worship; some might simply listen and reflect quietly. We invite you to be who you are and to seek God without any fear of hype or manipulation.
After a brief time of greeting, you’ll experience engaging teaching from the Bible by Pastor Steve Owens. You’ll find him to be relevant, authentic, and passionate about helping you to understand how the Bible applies to your daily life. We don’t water down Scripture, we humbly teach it with conviction and straightforward simplicity. So whether you’re just tearing the plastic wrap off your first Bible, or whether you’ve read it cover to cover, you can grow and be challenged in your walk with God.
The teaching often features inspirational and engaging videos that make the service even more memorable and impacting. You’ll always get something on Sunday you can use on throughout the week and you’ll leave uplifted, challenged and ready to experience the life God offers you through Jesus Christ.
